Saturday morning. And Ivan isn't curled up next to me like he usually is at the beginning of the weekend.

I don't remember him ever getting up early before, and I know he doesn't have any early classes on Saturday either (probably why I always wake up before him). But the smell of food from the kitchen tells me he's still here, and the sound of muttered curses gives me reason to think that he's burning our breakfast (which is probably why I always cook it for us anyways). So I quietly get dressed, go our of my room, sneak up behind him and hug him, causing him to jump, scream and burn his hand on the waffle iron.

"Good morning~" I coo into his red ear. He always reacts in the most adorable of fashions.

"I swear to God Theo, if you do that again, I'm gonna put your hand in the iron instead of batter!" It's a half-hearted threat though; he didn't even sound all that angry.

"You won't have to, because I'll just get back to making our breakfast tomorrow and next weekend and the next weekend after that," I say cheerfully, kissing his cheek and picking up the box of waffle mix that had not existed in my apartment the night before. "And then I'll make it every morning when you move in at the end of the semester. I'll be your wife in the kitchen and your husband in the bedroom~"

His glare seems almost convincing, but his blush tells me that I caught him off guard. I'm amazed he hasn't learned anything in the past few months. "I can cook too! You don't have to do all of that!"

I snicker. "Darling, cooking doesn't mean running off to a corner store at seven in the morning to buy batter mix and just follow those instructions. It takes a lot more than that."

"Says the music grad!" he snaps at me. "All I wanted to do was make you some fucking breakfast for once, and you take this as another chance to seem superior to me! What happened to 'it's the thought that counts,' hm?" He grabbed a waffle, his coat, put on his shoes and slammed the door behind him as he walked out.

I sigh. This was our first fight. And all I did was tease him a little! Ugh, stupid kid...Why do I even put up with him? We've been dating for four months now, and he only just confessed his love to me yester--oh. Yeah, that.

It would be better if you knew the whole story.

I think the confusing part is my name. People seem to think Theodore is a name for old people, but I'm 24. And I give private music lessons, so that explains why Ivn even came here in the first place. So anyways, little Ivan comes in here expecting some fat old professor would be teaching him the was of his youth, but instead finds me giving my little cousin his first cello lesson.

As the lesson progressed, he didn't seem to let it get to him at all, albeit he did seem a bit nervous and stiff and had the faintest trace of a blush at the tips of his ears. I thought it might just be from his position, so I decided to move him around while he went on and on playing that one scale over and over.

His first reaction was when I moved his wrist. It ended up making him stiffer, so I told him to relax and put up with it. I could feel the shiver running down his arm when I touched the inside of his elbow. Curiosity got the best of me, and I had already decided that he was much cuter than any of the girls I had dated and been friends with since I started college. I tilt his head further into his chin rest and feel his pulse quicken, face definitely reddening. And he collapsed the moment I put my hand on his calf to move his leg further...and that was the beginning of our relationship as student and teacher...

His next lesson was a bit easier and a bit harder; easier because he was a lot more relaxed while playing and could actually play a three-octave C-major scale up and down in a matter of ten seconds, but harder because whenever I would move or say something, he would stiffen up. I was mostly just grateful that he hadn't given up on these lessons. But I did manage to sneak a kiss before he left, and there was a ghost of an unsure smile on his lips as he walked out the door.

Afterwards things came much more smoothly. We started spending our Saturday nights together, and that ended up turning into Friday nights and all of Saturday, and then Sunday got thrown in, and the next thing we knew, whenever we had a minute of mutual free time, we'd spend it together.

Which leads us to last night. We watched half a movie before we got sucked up in our own little world, and I decided to take things slowly for once, and we ended up explaining to each other why we loved the other so much, and he said, "And then Monday when I woke up, I looked in the mirror and started asking myself why you weren't with me, why my other half wasn't with me." Afterwards not even I could understand him, but that should be normal in the heat of the moment.

However, he wouldn't just say that on a normal day. Something special had to have happened. He's probably the biggest tsundere I know. And him trying to make breakfast for me was probably his way of showing how much he cares.

And I blew it.

I sigh and pick up one of the waffles, thinking that it would be a waste not to eat them. And surprisingly there was something different about them. The box says that it's just plain waffle mix, but there's cinnamon and some fruit in here.

And now I feel even worse because he actually put some very important thought into what to make. "He probably thinks I'm an asshole..."

Walking over to the couch, I notice that his violin case is still in the corner with the music stands. I'll apologize when he comes to get it. Knowing him, he probably left it the on purpose as an excuse to come back and see if I've figured anything out yet. Or maybe he is a big idiot and just forgot it in the first place.

I spend the rest of my day doing little things: cleaning around the apartment, doing laundry, buying groceries, stuff like that. I came back with the last few bags from my trip to the store, and when I go into my apartment, I find Ivan all dressed up and holding flowers.

"You really shouldn't keep the door unlocked..." He doesn't look at me when he says it, but I smile anyways and put my things down.

"I thought it might speed up the process," I say, putting the ice cream I was planning on eating alone tonight in my freezer. "But I guess it just let someone else in."

He's staring into the flowers, probably thinking over his plan of action.

I go over to where he's leaning against the couch and join him. "The waffles were actually pretty good. I shouldn't have said anything."

He blushes and shakes his head vigorously. Definitely adorable. "It's my fault. I snapped at you even though I knew you were just teasing me. And I probably just worried you even more when I stormed out like that. I just wanted to do something special is all..."

"Take your time," I say as I hug him from the side, trapping his arms against his body. "But if you wake up early enough I'll teach you how to make waffles from scratch. Anything else you wanna make you'll have to find recipes for on your own, got it?"

"Yeah..." With a sigh, he holds up the flowers. "I made us reservations at that new restaurant that just opened on the other side of town. I know you wanted to go there some time so I just went ahead without asking you. Do you mind?"

I think for a moment. "What time did you make it for?"

"7 o'clock. We've got forty five minutes."

"Damn. I can't do anything to you in that much time..."

"That's it! I'm done with you!" he yells.

I grab him around the waist before he can storm off and plant a kiss on his cheek. "Give me ten minutes to get ready, then we'll go."

He mutters something under his breath as I walk to my room, but I know he's not gonna leave. There was something in his little unsure smile that told me so.
Today I was bored, so I wrote this. Just a little thing I came up with when I couldn't sleep, and I thought it was cute enough. It was kind of fun writing from Theo's point of view, since I usually think of these things from Ivan's. But it was fun developing it, so I hope you guys enjoy it!
